At just 16 years old James rolled out of bed and looked to the other side of the small bedroom at his younger brother Stewart, as the unpleasant thought of going to school that day lingered in his mind. As James was putting on his blue jeans and horizontally striped polo he’d just gotten the week before he made the decision that school wasn’t a priority that day. Instead after James finished his scrambled egg breakfast he walked to the bus stop with his younger brother Stewart and unveiled his master plan. “You know how mommy won’t let me go see the new exorcist movie that just came out?”  said James, and Stu replied, “um yeah.” “Well I’m going to see it today whether she wants me to or not.” At that moment the shining yellow five-ton bus with “Woodbridge Public Schools” written along the side pulled up as the two brothers got on. A 10-minute ride to the middle school flew by in what seemed like 2 minutes to James, he was more anxious than he had ever been before since this was his first time playing hooky. Stewart exited the bus and waved goodbye as the bus pulled away from the middle school and headed down the street to the high school. James now sitting alone ran through his master plan one more time in his head. He was going to get off the bus, wait for the driver to leave and when she does he will skulk away from the school and start walking to the movie theater. That is exactly what James did. As the fat rubber tires screeched against the pavement and the bus came to its final stop James knew it was go time. He got off, the bus driver left, and he crept away. His plan went off without a hitch and he began the two-mile walk to the movie theater. All alone he marched and after 25 minutes of walking he arrived at the cinema. After buying his ticket he went to the snack bar and spent almost every dollar he had buying popcorn soda candy and anything else that looked like it would satisfy his junk food craving. He walked into the theater and sat alone in the back row tearing through his snacks before the movie started but it was a good thing he did. Once the movie started his eyes were glued to the screen from beginning to end as his heart was beating out of his chest not knowing what jump scare or thrill would come next. The walk home was lonely and significantly more terrifying than the walk to the movies. Fast forward to later that night James was finally able to fall asleep but Stewart being the jokester he is had to do something. Stewart snuck to the edge of James’ bed and shook the mattress just like in the movie. James awoke screaming and now at 16 years old laying in a pile of urine.
