My grandpa took his two kids, wife, and his parents on a trip to Disney World in Florida which was a fun trip but exhausting because of the florida heat. One day it rained and he ordered pizza for dinner but he thought the pizza place was called FLA’s, when it was really Florida’s but they just used the abbreviation for show. His kids thought it was so funny because he looked like an idiot. They still to this day haven’t let it down that he called it Fla’s.

On the fourth day of the family’s Disney World trip, it had, finally, rained. The whole family rushed back to the hotel room when the rain started to fall after only about two hours of exploring the different parks. The hotel wasn’t the nicest, or the cleanest, which was seen in the mold in the showers and the stains on the beds, but it was the nicest place John could afford.

Dinner time slowly approached but, because of the rain, they weren’t able to go out anywhere. John looked through the decade old yellow pages the hotel left in the room and picked the first pizza place his eyes landed on.

“Hey, kids! How does Fla’s Pizza sound? The Yellow Pages says it’s the best pizza in the whole state!” That was a lie, but John always tried to get the kids excited about the smallest things, despite his efforts actually working.

“Sure, Dad, whatever.” Jack said in his usual uninterested tone. Johnna didn’t even look up from her book.

John sighed and rolled his eyes at his unconcerned kids. As he turned the dial on the phone and waited for it to roll back to hit the next number, he wondered if his kids would ever come out of their shells and be as excited as he is about some things.

John was greeted on the phone by another blasé voice, but he interrupted and said loudly, “Hi is this Fla’s pizza?”

“Sir, this is Florida’s Pizza.”

“Oh. It’s not Fla’s?”

“No. It’s just Florida’s Pizza. What can I get for you?”

As John ordered his pizza, he could hear snickering from the bed behind him. Johnna and Jack were holding in their laughter at the fact that their Dad just made a fool of himself to a total stranger over the phone.

John hung up the phone and slowly turned around to face his kids. They let out a scream of laughter that could probably be heard all the way at Epcot.

“Uhh is this Fla’s? My name is John and I don’t know that Fla is Florida” Jack put on a stupid voice to mock his dad.

They made fun of him for the rest of the trip and then some. John didn’t seem to care though, he was just happy to see his kids finally looking like they were excited about something, even if it was at his expense.
