After just being accepting into Drexel University, my mother and I drove down to Philadelphia. This is where I decided Drexel was the right college for me. We stayed there for two days straight and I didn't only fall in love with Drexel, I also feel in love with Philadelphia.

Greeting from Drexel!

On the first day of arriving in Philadelphia, my mother and I were so excited to get out of our everyday lives in Vermont. My mother, a very enthusiastic woman who wanted to do everything we possible could in Philadelphia, was full of energy since this was a spontaneous vacation for the both of us. We went on a Segway tour of the Old City, where we saw the scariest alleyway in the United States. After we took a sightseeing bus to learn all of the secrets about Philadelphia. The guide discussed the story and rumors behind the Edgar Allen Poe house. After our bus ride, we were both starving. As we walked on South Street we saw the famous Philly Cheesesteak from Jim's. As we scarfed our first ever Philly Cheesesteak, our stomach was introduced to a new delicious flavor. The next day, we woke up to the sun shining inside our hotel room; it was time to tour Drexel. We walked over since it was pushing 70 degrees at nine in the morning, a temperature that only gets reached during mid June in Vermont. We started our tour from Drexel's main building and walked all throughout campus. A student ambassador would lecture us on what building had which classes in it, where the cool spots to hang out were, and which dorm was which. He took us inside Towers as we got a sneak peak inside what a college dorm consisted and how little room we were going to have next year. He wrapped up the tour where we started; my mom asked me "so should we go to the bookstore and get that sweatshirt?" I swear my eyes start to glow as I said, "Yes Yes Yes!" Then as we were about to head back to the hotel to get the car and drive home when my mom pulls my shoulder around and says "we need a picture to put on facebook!" Then I gave the most superficial smile, since I really don't like pictures, and got my official 'going to Drexel' picture. Ever since I stepped on campus in the Fall I have loved every part of my freshman year and I'm so glad that I was able to attend Drexel and live in the best city in the United States of America.
