This is a picture of me and my teammates in Bangladesh. This was taken at the award ceramony and we had just won a bronze medal after we beat India. This moment was a proud moment for Sri Lanka squash and for me personally.

Greetings from Bangladesh!

A few moments ago the Sri Lankan Squash team won the Bronze medal at the Asian Games. It was a huge moment for me. I was playing at the number 2 position and it all came down to my match. We lost the match at the number 1 position and luckily for us our number 3 player won his match. I was last on court and I was under so much pressure. Winning the bronze medal depended on my match. We were playing against India, one of the stronger teams when it comes to Squash. I had never played in front of a huge crowd and I was very nervous. Before I stepped into the court my coach called me to the side and told me ¨Binura, it doesn't matter whether you win or lose but do your best¨. I'm wearing Sri Lankan squash jersey and I'm sweating eventhough I haven't started the game yet. I could hear people cheering as I stepped into the court. All the hard work I have done it all comes down to this moment. We played to best of five sets which meant that I had to win three sets to win the whole match. I was doing too many mistakes and I went on to lose the first couple of sets. But after a while i got back into my zone and i was playing to my potential. After a long 80 minutes I won the match. I can't put into words the feeling I have right now. Everyone got up from their seats and gave me a standing ovation. My teammates came running into the court and they jumped on me, they were filled with joy. It was a big win for me and my country.
