Aunt Barbara was never hard up for cash now my uncle who I do not speak much about is a huge contributor. I just want you to know her just a little from my story. She is truly an inspiration to me see my Aunt has helped me in some of my toughest times and continues to do so. In addition, she managed to get her Master’s degree in her 50’s so you see she is one of the reason I am writing this paper today as a college student.

Hi, Aunt Barbara I need to come to your job and fax my resumes.

“Ok Keirsten that’s not a problem”. Which nothing I ever asked was a problem.

Barbara Molden is someone anyone would be fortunate enough to know, now she is not fancy by the way of dress, but her riches are exquisite in her heart. She would pack us all in her car on the weekends and take us to various places; my brother would have to sit in the hatchback because his legs were extremely long. My mom did not have a car so she would take us to the supermarket to the mall and family gatherings.

Aunt Barbara can I do some work to make extra money?

Yes, Keirsten come over this weekend and you can do some cleaning for me.

Aunt Barb how much do you think you will be able to pay me because I saw a Champion outfit I want and it cost $75.00.

Well Keirsten it depends on how good of a job you do, and then we can discuss money.

Ok Aunt Barb. I will see you this weekend.

Saturday would come and I had my own chores to do at home so I would wake up extra early and do my chores. Then I would head over to Aunt Barb house to make the bacon for my new outfit of course!

My Aunt lived maybe 5 minutes away from us via car but probably 25 minutes walking, so it was not that far but on that walk, the scenery would change tremendously. My Aunt lived in a much nicer section of Mt. Airy our house was on one end and her house was on the other. The homes were beautiful with their well-manicured lawns, flowers and the doors were huge. I often imagined walking through those doors to 15-foot ceilings and beautiful chandeliers, I dreamed of one day living in a home like the ones I would see on the way to Aunt Barb’s house.

Finally I arrived Aunt Barb opened the door but before she did you could hear her removing the alarm.

Hey Keirsten I want you to do both levels of the house, including vacuum, both upstairs bathrooms and the basement bathroom.

I thought to myself dang! This will take all day I thought I was just going to be doing some light dusting, well whatever let me get started. I would start in the living room, which consisted of mirrors on one side that went from the dining room to the living room and from the floor to the ceiling; I would have to clean the picture table, which had pictures of everyone in the family and some of her friend’s children.

Now underneath that table was a marble chessboard with marble chess pieces which needed dusting, did I mention my Aunt did not like to clean so she would hire someone to do it for her.

I decided to conquer the task. The hardest part was the bathroom “who likes to clean bathrooms I would say to myself”. I would remove everything out of the bathroom then wipe everything down “Ewww the toilet I would stand away and you the brush thing until it was sparkling white.

I was finally done my Aunt would look around and inspect and would say.

“Wow Keirsten great job!

I was pleased in knowing that I made her happy and did it right.

Now let us get to the money, she went upstairs and came back down with her hand in a fist, she handed me a stack of money.

Thanks, Aunt Barb it felt like more than $75.00, she said wait a minute I will drive you home. I was relieved because I was exhausted.

As she walked upstairs, I unfolded the money $150.00 I wanted to shout! When she came back down, I gave her a big hug and said Thank you!

If you know Aunt Barb, she is not a big hugger so I more or less just hugged her. Upon dropping me off at home, she stated that the job was mine once a month if I wanted it. I have been doing it ever since.
