Visitors under the age of eighteen (18) must obtain permission from their parents/guardians before using any aspect of the website, or submitting any personally identifiable information to the website. Users under the age of thirteen (13) are prohibited from creating an account.
To ensure the maximum safety and privacy of our users, SBYF prohibits any photos of those currently under the age of 13 on our Memory Postcards. Instead, we encourage you to have young participants create original artwork, or, even better, create it together.
Participants with Cognitive Impairment
The privacy, safety, and comfort of those with cognitive impairment is of the utmost importance to SBYF. The project itself was created in memory of William B. McNamee, who struggled with Alzheimer’s in the final years of his life. We know how difficult it is for families who are dealing with this and related diseases. With this in mind, it is our policy that only the legal guardian of those with cognitive impairment may publish directly into our Memory Library, acting as their Scribe. For others creating Memory Postcards with the cognitively impaired, please mail us a physical copy of the Memory Postcard at PO Box 2120, Bala Cynwyd PA 19004, along with the SBYF Cognitive Impairment Release Form signed and dated by the participant’s legal guardian. We will happily archive all postcards received. However, only those with signed participation forms will be eligible to be shared in our online Memory Library. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is very important to us.
Teachers participating with their classes should mail the physical postcards, along with the signed participation forms, to SBYF, PO Box 2120, Bala Cynwyd PA 19004. All postcards received will be archived, but only those with signed participation/release forms are eligible to be shared in our online Memory Library.
The SBYF newsletter is delivered weekly by our mailman, Bruce. He carries postcards from all over the world, and other fun SBYF news. The SBYF newsletter works on an “opt-in” basis. This means: Bruce, will only visit if you ask him to. If, at any time, you wish to stop receiving the newsletter, visit the email newsletter sign up page to opt-out.
